Saw my first SR1911 at Gander Mtn today. Fit and finish were very nice but not for the $749.95 they were asking. I guess the guy that prices their guns also does their $29.99 gun Powder.

I've yet to see any bargains at Gander Mountain.

Got mine from Impact Guns when they first came out. Price $629plus. Put some rounds thru it and some fancy grips. Very reliable and good looking, I call it my Working Man's Wilson......Jacktex

I've been a little disappointed with Gander Mountain prices in my area too. I guess I expect a little more from "national retailers" who can buy in larger quantities (and should be able to sell for a little less.) I'd as soon go to a full-service store - I used to work in one - get quality help and pay a little more for it. In fact, I recently shopped around for a S&W 442 and got the best price (BY A LOT!) at my full-service gun shop/outfitter. You never know....

I'm still waiting to find an SR1911. When they're available at a reasonable price I plan to get one.

I went to Gander Mountain one time, I'll never go back. :(

Gander Mtn is my "When it's on sale" store. and that depends on the sale price.
I was really turned off by them when I found out they were closing out the
reloading supplies here in their WI stores!

I normally just wait for my LGS to have it in stock. I've only found one good deal at GM.

I've resigned myself to wait until 2012 to get a SR1911. I plan on sending it off for some work so I won't see it until the fall of '12. Good things come to those who wait.

I don't know if it's close enough for you, but Black Wing Shooting Center in Delaware had about 5 SR1911's in stock a few weeks ago. And they have an SR1911 available for rental use on their range.

I am still waiting to look at one. I have seen none in Mid-Missouri. Would love to buy one if it could be bought for less than 700 out the door.

If you feel like a drive, call up Top Gun in Arnold, MO. They are doing a Ruger Days promo over the weekend and have quite a few in stock according to the guy behind the counter when I bought mine. Donate $5 to Toys for Tots and they drop $30 off the SR1911 and even after taxes I only shelled out @$650.

I really like mine, it's purdy.

I finally saw and held one last weekend. Was 350 miles from home in a small LGS in Lubbock,Texas.

Nice looking gun and would have been tempted but they wanted $799,full MSRP.

Stopped by a Gander's as well while out there. Every handgun was MSRP.

Yep,I will keep looking for one that is at a good price. Really did like the way it looked and felt.
Maybe some time soon there will start to be more on the market.

Saw one at my Range yesterday... Sharp looking and seems to be put together well (very tight fits). Stainless, nice wood grips and real nice sights. Ruger makes a good gun but for me, at $799 it's priced alittle stiff. Just got my first Colt a few months ago, very happy, so I'm out of the 1911 market (at least for now).
