besides the slide markings and the grips are there quality differences at all? Does anyone know, I have the RIA/Twin Pines, I may consider buying the Armscor. does anyone have a preference? I don't see any differences other than the slide and grips. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a99/3006mv/Rock20Island.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a99/3006mv/fsgiseries.jpg

Considering both are made by the same folks in the same plant.. probably not too many diffs and those are probably minor. i.e. the grips slide markings.
Merry X-mas to one and all!

Hey Al! Don't be a stranger man. Here in February/March I want to show you what all my pistol smith and I have done to my RIA (I definately had to get a pistol smith involved on some parts of it. Hehehe) Been a while. Anyway, just wanted to give you a shout out.

The case my RIA came in actually says "Armscor" on it. The sticker on the side says "Twin Pines". There probably aren't any real differences mechanically between the RIA and the Armscor.

Thanks for the hellos DeaconAegis, am eagerly awaiting your results. And thanks to Texas Storm & F M J for the input on the differences. I think I will stick w/ the RIA, I am waiting for my FFL to hear back from SARCO INC. to see if they still have deals, and I saw your post on the CDNN stainless magazines, I'll have to get some of those too. Happy Holidays to all. http://www.sarcoinc.com/rockislands.html

Let me know how it turns out going through Sarco, plz! Been thinking on going that way myself, last I looked they were quoting 275.00 plus shipping..
But I have heard that they aren't shipping as fast as they should, like 2 weeks after order.
Merry X-mas everyone and make sure to use extra nails on those x-mas stockings.. boxes of .45's are heavy!

I would suggest buying on www.gunbroker.com from seller "Bellshire" I got my RIA for $310 shipped and it arrived in less than a week.

Been thinking of going that way I was just being a lil extra cheap since X-mas abused me so badly! ;) I can save a whole 20.00 going Sarco, which is another 2 Novak mags from them.. (8.99ea with pistol purchase, no extra shipping) either way my "local" dealer is asking 30.00 trans fee..
See? told u I was being cheap! :D But, I am also impatient, so that 20 may be better spend going with Gunbroker.. Dang, I seem to be full of faults lately.. :p
Merry X-mas ya'll!!

Well, If I break it all down I paid $290 for the gun, $12 shipping, and 3% fee ($8) because I paid by credit card instead of money order or check. I don't mind paying a few extra dollars to get something faster. The local gun shop that I found the RIA at would have been about $435 with tax, so I still saved $100 even with the $25 transfer fee :)

I saw that Sarco had the RIA 6 months or so back. did not see them in the last ad in Shotgunners News. I paid $375.00 out the door for each of my pistols.

They're in this months.. last page or 2 of the "ad".. showing them same price as their web site- 275.00 add 13.00 or so for shipping.. one dealer wants 30.00 for transfer, but found a pawn broker that will do the trans for 10.00.. getting cheaper all the time, aren't I? ;)

If I can get another RIA at $275.00. Well, sure makes it interesting. Even though I have two already. One more has got to be better.
