Hi I was wondering if anyone knows if the Springfield Mil-Spec .45 can shoot hollow point ammunition without jams or malfunctions? Also, is this a good, functioning, accurate gun to buy?

I have one and it feeds and shoots everything I've given it. I've heard of different stories, but for the most part........its a good gun for the price.

For a good base gun, I don't think you can go wrong............

I really like mine. Shoots great and it shoots what ever I put in it. I only had to change the grips to accomodate my huge hands.

I have 350 round through my Gi mil spec. The rounds consisted of 230 JHP's, 200 SWC's, and the venerable jammers 152 SWC's. Not one failure to feed or eject. The only changes to the gun have been the sights, grips, and a lighter main spring.

flogdog.

I have about 1000 rds thru mine. The more you shoot it, the better it gets. I put a S&A magwell (flat MSH instead of arched and minus the ILS sysrem) and Black Rosewood contoured grips on it. It shoots well and so far it has taken any kind of ammo I have used including FMJ, HP, SWC, and cheap reload range stuff without any malfunctions at all.

INMOHO, if you get a good deal on it, buy it. It is very customizable (if you want to), good out of the box, great value, and all around good gun. I'm not really talking about the money. It's simply a good 1911, regardless of price.
