I am considering getting my wife an American classic 1911 with the chrome finish for her birthday .But before i get one i would like to know how well the chrome finish on these is holding up from people that have had one for awhile ?

I have one for for about 9 months now, fired 4350 rounds already, did hundreds of dry firing, the finish is still the same, no parts needs to be replaced yet.

that is great news. I'm 200 rounds in and love mine. Glad to know I have a lot of life left. :appld:

I've had my Trophy for 4 months and about 400 rds. Still looks like new. Not a single malf ever. Before shooting it the first time, I replaced the FLGR and plug with an Ed Brown standard GR and plug, and put on a set of thin smooth cocobolo grips. Next month I'll try cc with a De Santis IWB Sof-Tuck with variable rake. I'm pretty sure this one will be a keeper...
