NM 7791435 is an Ordnance part number found on the left side of the slide. The manufactures name or five-digit code number (GenII) is found on the right side. Some part numbers that have an NSN or FSN (found in a TM Manual Tm-9-1005-211-12p/1 dated 22 Jan 1964) can be traced back to the contractor or supplier of the slide. NM slides date back to the 1960's. In TM-91005-211-12P dated 29 Feb 1968, the part number was changed to NM 7791436 and Springfield Armory, Springfield, Mass was the supplier. Hope this is of some help to you.
