One of the Loaded models should be fine, at least I would go for one of them. My personal preference is the stainless steel TRP.

Just look at the different options, and hopefully there's a range close buy that has guns to shoot before you buy.
Welcome to the forums.........look thru the threads of the different 1911 makers............that'll help you out too..............

I carry a Springfield PX9161L daily and have really grown to appreciate this gun. It's tough, it's reliable and it's a pleasure to shoot. Mine looks like the pic below except I dumped the tacky fingy thingy grips and replaced them with slim wooden grips for carry purposes. I recommend this gun without qualification.

It depends a lot on your body structure and size for concealed carry I personnally carry a full size 5" Springfeild concealed but I am 6'3" tall. The small the gun (especially the 45) the harder they kick I have 2 45 and i love them both I would recommend to try to find some one that has a compact Springfeild that you can fire to see if you like it. Just simply for the simple fact that i had a friend that bought a new Compact model and he did not like to shoot it due to the recoil and he ended up selling the gun.
REMEMBER If you can shoot it well it wont do u a lot of good!
