Anyone here know where I can read about the 1910 pistol trials on-line? I'm very interested in knowing how the first issued 1911's were set-up as JMB intended, especially information on the FP stops. I just can't stop loving those old guns. Thanks.

I don't believe it is mentioned in the text, but the reason there were no Lugers in the test is that DWM declined the request for 200 pistols for the test. Two .45 Lugers had been forwarded to Springfield for initial testing, and the Ordnance Department was impressed enough to order the additional 200 pieces. The .45 was completely different from the Lugers that were then being manufactured, and since DWM had a large number of contracts for it's standard models, it declined the offer for the .45 pistols.
