Needs Advice On Refinishing

I recently aquired a Remington Rand 1911a1 that had been nickel/chrome plated long ago. I want to strip off the finish and either blue it or parkerize it.Any insight on what to use for stripping and refinishing it would be greatly appreciated.

You might do well to send it to a gunsmith who can strip the plating by a reverse plating process, then refinish it to your specifications.

I had the same thing going with this 43 rand. I used very fine sand paper to remove the nickle. Then I parkerized it using "shooters solutions"
