First off ,Hello new to the forum. I'm a police officer and former Marine looking for my first 1911 handgun to be used for off duty carry and home defense.
Which one of these would you choose to add to your collection.
1. Kimber CDP 5'
2. Kimber Grand Raptor
3. Springfield parkerized "loaded" 5' .45 ACP
4. Springfield TRP 5"
Thank you for any help and comments.

I would get a Springfield 5" Loaded in stainless steel, just because guns rust quickly when they touch my sweat. Stainless lasts longer, without needing being oiled every two hours. :)

I would go for the CDP. A friend of mine owns a Pro CDP. It has a 4" barrel and weighs 28 oz empty. I had an opportunity to shoot his gun at the range and I was very impressed. It is very accurate and was 100% reliable. We fired around 300 rounds that day without a single malfunction. This included many quick controlled pairs. The gun was very controllable and a pleasure to shoot.

I myself would go with either of the Springfields. You would not be disappointed. Semper Fi

Kimber CDP. As long as it is an Internal Extractor.

Of those you listed, the Springfield parkerized "loaded" 5' .45 ACP.

Springfield TRP, in stainless if you can get it.
You'll get a high level of hand fitting compared to the "loaded", and the difference in cost is worth it, IMNSHO.
