Hi guys:

I got a call from a friend that is looking at a commander that I do not know much about. I'm sure you guys would know.

Forgive me if the information is a bit schetchy, but there is no box or paperwork.

Is is what appears to be a new or very little used MARK IV SERIES 80 COMMANDER. It is blued w/night sights. The barrel, bushing, thumb safety and grip safety are silver. Grips are wrap around rubber. Trigger is silver with three holes.

The owner is deceased and the widow is not very knowledgeble. She thinks it was bought new in that condition as her husband did not tinker with guns.

Anyway, I can find nothing that would tell me that this is a factory gun. Is it possible? She would like $700 and I am thinking that is a good price as a new commander with night sights would probably cost more.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Rhainan

Tell him it's junk and go get it yourself!

Does it look anything like this? If so, I would buy it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v730/jeffreytuspc45/pix3139615828.jpg

It sounds like this guns gets a thumbs up as far as the price goes. I have not seen it in person, but the description fits the gun in the above picture.

Is it special or is it just a Colt Commander with night sights and some silver parts?

Thanks

Sorry mitchjoe, I didn't mean to imply that is was a limited/special item. rhainan mentioned that he could not find anything that could tell him that the Colt he is interested in is a factory Colt. The Colt in the picture is a Lightweight. I do not have any knowledge if it is a limited/special item. Sorry for the confusion. :o
