I just put a Series 70/Mark IV Gold Cup on layaway. It was a little high ($850) but it looks like new. The blueing is great and the slide to frame feels like it is on ball bearings. The gun appears stock except for an extended mag release. The trigger is to die for; clean and light. What I would like to know is if someone makes a 'short' trigger to fit the gold cup frame. (I know the trigger pad is wider on the gold cup) I have small hands and although I can opperate the stock trigger, it would be much easier with a 'short' trigger in this gun. Thanks. 44 Man

850 sounds like a great deal on a Colt series 70 Gold Cup. As far as the short trigger I am not sure but I bet someone here will know. I have never looked into changing the trigger on any of my Colts.

Hunter, thanks for the reply. I thought about buying this Gold Cup a month ago but held off because of the long trigger. I have always had to change the triggers on my 1911s to the short style. If I place the pistol in my hand in line with my wrist as it should be, I can put the pad of my trigger finger on a short trigger. With a long trigger, I can only get the tip of my finger on it. Same thing with a Glock. My fingers are short enough that I cannot always trip that safety lever in the middle of the Glock trigger. I can't believe I ever sold an Officers model to try a Glock in the first place! We live and learn. I've swapped lots of triggers, but I have never seen a short one advertised for the Gold Cup frame. 44 Man
