I have 2 Gunsites, a 5" SS and a CCO. I bought the 5" used, paid $1,000 LNIB. I traded 3 Glocks (1 beater, 1 good, 1 like new) for the CCO. The CCO was new with a price tag of $1,250. I have been very pleased with both guns.

First of all welcome to the forums! :D

It would depend on what your gonna do with the wep. Carry, back up or home defense. Take a look at a wide selection. Find a sight picture you like.
Once we know what you need the question will narrow itself down.

As far as fitting goes, if you have to ask, go see your gunsmith.

Thanks for the INTEL guys, I will use the .45 for CCW. The barrel bushing question, Puffy, is due to the fact that i have heard that Colts are a little loose with their barrel to bushing fit from the factory. I would have a new Bushing fit if that was the case.

I've never encountered a factory gun that shoot worst than I do. Of course, your mileage may vary, but I believe that those accuracy reports (or the luck of accuracy reports) are mostly due to human error than the pistols.

$1,194 on my 5" Stainless - due to be delivered soon (hopefully tomorrow).
I cannot answer about the bushing, but the one I shot recently (a friends) matched up accuracy wise to my Wilson CQB. Both ran 2.5 - 3" groups (5 shots/ 25 Yds), with me on the trigger and wrists rested on a sandbag.

"A little loose" is what generates 100% reliability, as opposed to target-grade accuracy.

The Gunsite is intended as a CCW and self-defense weapon. That's what it's good for out of the box. If you want a target pistol, buy one but don't expect it to be as reliable as a pistol designed primarily for reliability. A loose barrel bushing won't hurt anything at combat distances. Most self-defense shootings are at distances of around 15 feet. You don't need a competition grade bushing at that distance.

My Gunsite CCO was $1179 shipped. I hope to get a full-size blued Gunsite next.
