Hey guys,
I was bored at home and decided to rework the original wooden grips on the Rock Island GI. The original finish and staining gave the hardwood a little rosy color. So I removed it. I'm a part time comic book artist and wanted a little flare. I free handed a graphic on the grip and painted it. It's not very functional for concealing but I figure if I get another rock I could make it my "pimp" gun. LOL. In the mean time I put some tacky rubber grips on the gun. Just seeing what ya'll think...
Take a look

I saw a picture posted earlier in another tread that showed the gun and magazines. I like the grips but I wondered about the magazines. I just got two 8 round ACT-MAGS new and didn't even notice the slight engraving on them till I saw yours.

yeah bud, I've whiten the letters on a lot of my guns. I haven't tried a mag until recently. It seems to work better when the gun or mag is blued rather than parkerized. At least for now... but when I can get the RIA graphic and Lettering colored on my gun, I will post the pics. The color really "pops" and makes the gun look cool.
I use a china marker. Some use just a crayon.
Hope this helps

I've done lettering on guns before never done a magazine but mine are parkerized from ACT-MAG. I've found that a real cheap fingernail polish by Sally Hanson called Xtreme wear actually holds up great. I've even used it on sights with white that Gun Scrubber, Break Free Powder Blast or other solvents don't seem to effect at all. I've tried the pens also only to have them gone after a few cleanings on some places. I don't feel the need to do a magazine though it does look good..
This is the best stuff I've found for Gold letter which is on two of my guns.
