Thread reply email notification problem

Even though I turned off (in the User CP)...and verified several times...the option to NOT receive email notification when threads I started were replied to...I still get email notification when the threads I started were replied to.

I'm not sure how else I can turn it off beyond marking m1911.org email as 'spam'.

Anyone else?

I am having the same problem. I've tried severl times to get it to stop and I keep getting e notifications on any thread I post in, not just the ones I start.

P.S.) Hey Alex, I see you're in San Angelo. Is Goodfellow AFB still open? I went to school there from Dec 1965 til May 1966. I LOVED San Angelo. Great people and the biggest damn hailstones this yankee ever saw, before or since.

The base is still open...which is why I'm here :)

Still have some mean hail...good for a new roof every few years :eek:

And...still getting email notifications despite turning that option off off off off (sigh) off...

When you changed the settings in User Options, did you select "No e-mail notification" or "Do not subscribe"? Whichever you selected, try the other.

Also, be certain after making the change to scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Save Changes." Otherwise the software won't record your preference.

Obviously, my advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

John, I too set my user options to turn off notification, but I am receiving notices nonetheless. Any ideas?

Gentlemen,

There are two things that have to be done, if initially in your CP you have selected to receive notifications and then you changed your mind.

First, you have to select in the CP "no notification" and then, you have to unsubscribe from the threads you have participated in, while that option was "Instant notification".

The change you made in CP is valid for all threads you will participate in, after the change was made. For the threads you have participated before the change, the forum still thinks you want to be notified, so it sends out notifications.

Sorry about the inconvenience, this is something that is managed by vBulletin software, and I have no way to change it.

But you can easily unsubscribe from the threads you have participated, from your CP.
