Anyone know of a resource which would tell me when a Colt was manufactured based on serial number?

MKIV, Series 80, Serial#FG049XX

TIA.

Chrisct - I'm assuming full size right? Ribbed top of slide, angled cocking serration, commander hammer, wide beavertail grip safety? If so, early 90s. Guys out there please correct me if I'm wrong.

FWIW, my gun's serial no. is FG885xx. It is a 5" Government Model MKIV Series 80 .45 ACP with blued finish, fixed combat sights and checkered walnut grips with gold Colt medallions. I called Colt today and was advised it was manufactured in 1989.

Actually, it's a "pre-enhanced" model with a rounded top of slide, straight cocking serrations, spur hammer and a standard GI safety, blued with fixed combat sights.
