Hiya, back again with different questions this time. <G> Still a n00b at 1911s, but working at it...
Got the new Shotgun News yesterday, and SARCO now has the 14-round double-stack RIA .45. (http://www.sarcoinc.com/rockislands.html - bottom of the page). (Late note: found a wide-body RIA post - http://forum.m1911.org/showthread.php?t=7460 - with more info, including The Dealer's Warehouse ad.)
First, of course, is: has anyone here gotten to try one of these? How does it feel? (I prefer the idea of more rounds, but not at the expense of comfort and a "natural" feel.)(Late note: the magwell picture in the other thread shows the wide of it. Might have to actually grab one and see how it feels...)
Second, what mags will it eat? RIA-only, Paras, most anything double? (Late note: RIAs and true Para 14s according to the othert post.)
And third, the question that probably should go somewhere else but I'm lazy <G>, other than the mags (and mainspring cover), is there anything that would need non-standard parts when I go replacing bits? Wide-body beavertail? Fatboy trigger? Lake pipes? (Whoops, wrong customisation subject...)(Late note: from the pics in that other thread, looks like mags and mebbe the mag release? Certainly grips, from the magwell picture.)
Oh, and the question that I can probably find the answer to pretty quickly in the forums but haven't looked yet: firing-pin safety?
Thanks for the info!
