Hey guys. I'm very, very new to this whole 1911 thing, but have owned other auto-pistols for a few years. I apologize if my questions are redundant - but I could not find any other info about the problems I was having, specifically. My problems are two-fold (but are somehow related - I'll bet):
1. Occasionally after firing, a new round will be chambered and the slide will return to battery but with the hammer completely down (as opposed to "cocked.")
2. Pistol will occasionally go into "full-auto" for 2 or 3 rounds (usually just 2.)
I am fairly mechanically competent, and would like to be able to remedy these problems myself if possible. Any advice for a new guy?

Howdy and welcome aboard,
If the gun is doubling, you've got a problem within the trigger/fire control group. If the gun has had a trigger job, it was poorly done. Possible that you've got a worn disconnect, or you may have a problem with the hammer and sear engagement angles or length of the hammer hooks.
Can you detail-strip the gun? If you can, you may be able to correct the problem by bending the center leg of the sear spring forward to put more tension on the disconnect. Sometimes, correcting a burst-fire problem is just that simple.
If you can't, it's not hard to do and the instructions can be found on one of the sticky threads at the top of the page. The Norinco is built to the original design specs and is a lot simpler than the Series 80 Colts. With practice, you can completely strip the frame in just over a minute, and reassamble in about
two.

Yeah, day off, actually up at 05:00, just delayed getting online. Spent the afternoon at the range, 144 rounds of my reloads through my Kimber Gold Match stainless. Only one bobble, had to be my fault. It was pretty cold and windy, so I was wearing gloves and by golly, I managed to push up the slide stop just enough for it to engage.
