Is this part MIM? I don't think it would have mattered, the cut out for the ejector is very close to the FP hole, which is where it cracked all the way around. I probably would have never seen it but, I was by a 300 watt halogen lamp. I was going to order an Ed Brown Hardcore, why is it cut on the bottom right side?(for 80 series?) What else is MIM on this Springer? Thanks for any info. My ejector looks odd also, the top is like a razor blade, was the slide not fully cut, so they modified the ejector? It should be the same as a 5", right. Sorry I can't post pic's right now, pc down for home renovations.

Howdy 230. Welcome aboard.

Not sure if the stop is MIM. I never looked at mine when I took it out of the GI pistol and swapped for an EGW stop...but even machined steel stops will crack in the area that yours did. Sharp corners are breeding grounds for stress risers...and stress risers lead to cracks. The Hardcore is a good stop, though...and should take care of the problem for a long time if not for the life of the gun.

Cracked firing pin stops happen, don't lose sleep over it.

I thought this Brown stop would be tighter but, it slides right in, just had to file the top for my rear sight and some to clear the ejector then cleaned up the edges. Hope it lasts longer than 258 rnds, thanks guys.
