Could a correct 1944 Remington Rand have an recoil spring guide that it is in the white? The rest of it pistol is finished and shows very little wear, so I doubt that use rubbed the finish off the recoil spring guide. I am thinking someone lost the original and replaced it with what even might be a stainless steel aftermarket part. Your knowledge would be much appreciated.

While it doesn't take a lot of use to rub some of the finish off the spring guide, if your guide is so bare of finish that it appears to be stainless (or actually is) in the pistol you describe as having little wear otherwise, then the guide has been changed.
Even with moderate wear, some finish normally remains in the protected areas of the guides in guns with original parts.
