Hi there, This is my first post here and also my first 1911 purchase.

I bought a Colt Combat Commander XSE and have a question about the adjustable trigger. It has a set screw at the bottom and I do not know what the adjustment does. Is it to adjust the paly in the trigger or the actual weight to fire the gun? The manual does not cover the trigger adjustment.

Also can someone tell me when it was manufactured? Serial# FC 21469E
I know it isn't an old gun, just curious is all.

Thanks,
Nick

The set screw only adjusts over travel of the trigger. You want to adjust it so that the trigger will fully release the hammer and not let the sear drag on the hammer. If this is to be a defensive weapon, I suggest turning the screw out about a half turn past the point at which the sear stops dragging. Once you are satisfied with your adjustment, put a drop of Blue Locktite on the top of the screw threads.
