Blacked Out Colt 70 Series with Extreme Dehorn!

We all cut our teeth shooting and building on Colts around here and the allure of the Pony remains strong at Wilson Combat. They are and will always be America’s most historic 1911 brand and can be the basis for a unique, fantastic custom pistol project.

As a true “Custom Shop”, we not only build guns to our specs, but also to yours! This is one of the many things that set’s us apart from some of the other shops. We were founded as a custom shop and will remain always stay true the ideals of giving the customer Blacked Out Colt 70 Series with Extreme Dehorn!
what they want, when we can.

This is one of those projects. We took a very nice Colt 70 Series in .45 ACP and added many of our usual touches-fitted barrel, reliability job, action work, beavertail, sights lanyard loop mainspring housing, sights, checkering and replaced practically every internal part. At the customers request we used a Colt Commander hammer. You will immediately notice the heavier dehorn on the edges-very smooth and easy to handle but not too washed out or melted. This gun still retains its beautiful lines.

I hope you guys like it-it’s a bit different-we don’t do too many guns with the extreme dehorn, but in this case I think it turned out great.

Very nice.

To WCR: The CQB Elite that you guys are building for me now has the extreme carry option, is this a good indication of what it will look like?

Thanks.

Not sure about the extreme dehorn treatment, but in every other respect, I love it!

Looks great. How would this compare in price with the Bill Wilson Carry model?
Besides barrel length, any other major differences not already mentioned?
Really impressive looking!

The dehorning looks great but I'm also really impressed with how great the new grips look. With the de-horning and the 'burst grips, one might almost have to look twice to realize that it's a Colt and not a WC original.

Very nice job.

is it armor-tuffed? Did it start out as a stainless pistol or as a blued pistol?

Gorgeous, I'd go for some rosewood grips myself but other than that its perfection.

My Colt should look somewhat similar when you guys get done with it. I think I'm just a week or two out from getting it back from Wilson.

Call Nick in customer service. He is very familiar with this gun.

Also, our price list for custom work is on our website.

While i appreciate the work and skill that's gone into it, it looks a bit overly melted for me. Possibly the finish adds to the effect but from the pics it looks like a plastic gun.
