Help! my thumb safety is stuck ON

Hi, I was switching out some slides on my RIA and my safety got stuck I mean really stuck in the on position! How did this happen? I got the frame broken down, removed msh, grip safety, and sear spring out but the trigger and thumb safety are locked up. How do I get this mess undone, hopefully nothing is permanently damaged.

Remove the mainspring housing and the sear spring, it might take some persuading to accomplish it, but eventually it will come out, then everything will come out.

Since the only thing you changed is the slide, what probably happened is that the "V" in the slide let the safety position itself a little too high, and the plunger got under it. Use the tip of a small, thin knife blade to wiggle between the safety and the plunger and try again. It should let the radius on the pad slide past the plunger.
