hi,
just wonder what are the models being release here in the philippines? as ive read all the thread about norinco, the following are mentioned on the thread:
1. Standard model
2. Commander size model
3. Enhanced model
4. Police Enhanced model
the only thing I can distinguised are the Standard and the commander size. commander is shorter than the A1, correct me if im wrong. pls need some feed back regarding this models. im planning to purchase come this dec. or january.
(afterall my previous choice is not norinco, but a lot of my friends recommend NORINCO, also reading this thread makes me convinced that norinco is the best option.)
thank you ver much.

@bok,
i guess you are the right guy here to ask, bro whats the diff. between commander/compact model with the enchanced model or police enhanced model?
my friend told me that the unit price for the standard model is 14,900.00php and 17,500.00php for the commander size. processing fee would range around 3T-4T , is this a good deal?
thanks for any valuable info you can give.

Gentlemen, please respect Ultimo's thread. He asked a question, if you can, answer it. If you want to ask a different question, start a new thread. It's not polite to hijack a thread with a different question.
And also, please respect the Forum Rules. If you want to find a gunsmith in your part of the world, ask that question in the proper forum, which is the General Discussion area one or the Gunsmithing one. The fact that you have a Norc that you want the gunsmith to work on, does not mean your post should be in the Norinco's forum. Unless you have a specific question to ask about the Norincos, your post does not belong in the Norinco's forum.

diff. between commander/compact model with the enchanced model or police enhanced model?
ultimo: sorry for the late reply. diff between enhanced and enhanced police is that the police has a flgr. common parts:
beavertail grip safety, extended slide stop, ambidextrous safety, commander hammer and extended mag release button. on the side note, our PNP tested the police version for 5k rounds with zero malfunctions.
difference with the commander/compact model is their slide/barrel/frame size. all of the parts are standard. hope this helps. :)

its ok if this thread will be open for discussion on any Norinco 1911 related here in the philippines. eg. pricing, lincensing.....etc.

Bokbok 05,
Thanks, any modification done on your rig? I'm thinking that if I'll get the Police I will install Wilson combat trigger, hammer, sear, beavertail, PT night sight and Wolff variable recoil/firing spring combo.

Yup, there are some mods. installed STI trigger, STI disconnector & sear, TP guide rod, Ed Brown hammer and 17lbs mainspring. Trigger breaks at 2.5lbs. Those pics in the thread are old. Try to post new pics. Thanks :)

Another suggestion. Since you will really be replacing most of the parts in the Norinco, why not just get a bare mil-spec standard government sized Norinco. It will be cheaper and you won't have any excess parts you don't need.
MOst mods will start with the following
- better sights
- trigger adjustment
- bevertail
- grips
- magazines
most of all, lots of ammo. your gun may be a beauty but is still worthless if you don't shoot it well. a golf club will be easier for defense in that scenario ;)

Based on my calculation it would still be cheaper buying the Police enhanced. It has a double serration on the slide, ambidextrous release, dovetail front sight, etc. Just the ambidextrous it already offset the cost of the standard and the enhanced if you will also replaced it.
Yup, need a lot of ammo for practice.:)

you can go to Metrillo located at Kalayaan Ave., Pasay or First Option at Bulacan St., QC. (look for Mang Delfin). Both are topnotch gunsmiths. :)

Just so you're interested there's Weapons Systems Corp. in Ortigas offering Norinco enhanced commander size (beavertail, combat hammer, combat trigger, single stack or at least that's what they told me). Check them out if you like. (632)687-7607 / (632)687-7973.

Bokbok 5, in your modification did you change the pins and springs inside? There is an Ed Brown springs/pins rebuilt kit that is available. I'm thinking of whether changing the pins and springs also.

first thing you have to do is to shoot the pistol. invest first on ammo before anything else. spend time at the range, along the way you will know what you should do with your pistol. replace parts that breaks, if aint broke don't fix. just my 2 centavos. :)

I already know what to do with the pistol. In fact I already have all the stuff for the modification (Wilson Combat - Ultralite hammer/trigger/sear/disconnector/magwell/beaver, PT Night sight, Wolff variable main spring, Hogue wrap around grip). It just that when I send it to the gunsmith I want it to be done at one time. Anyway thanks for your advice. :)

I went to the store 2 days ago for my plan purchase of Commander model Norinco. but i was adviced that this model is out of stock as of this month. they are still waiting their shipment coming from china (thats what they told me). and so my inquiry went into asking about the licenses here in the Philippines. AFAIK, process of licenses by the gunstore is only cover for the gun (travel from house-to-shooting range), is this the PTC, right? how about those invidual who carry thier gun wherever they go? is that cover also for PTC? the personnel at the gun store told me that they can process such license for 12K! i just need som clarification regarding this.
thanks.
nelany

If you want to carry the gun anywhere, you need the PTC (Permit To Carry). If it is just from your house to the range, it will be PTT (Permit To Transport). PTT is just limited to the ranges indicated in your permit (from your house to the range). Usually four to five ranges are indicated in PTT. Also PTT is renewable every 3 months.

@nelany,
so the one that the gun store process the license with a 4-5T fee is PTT?
@to others,
you guys have PTC? how much you spend for the license?

I think the one being processed by the gun store is the gun licence. Once the licence is approved, they will provide you with the PTT (one way, from store to your residence and good for one week).
You still need to be a member of a gun club in order for you to apply the PTT from that gun club. I belong to Armscor gun club.

Hey guys, please stop using any thread for a discussion of your local issues. If you want to ask such a question (i.e. licenses in Philippines) start a new thread in the General Discussion area.
I understand that you are a tight group of shooters, and that you need help from your friends in the area, but this habbit of turning any thread in a "Philippino only discussion" is killing the integrity of the information in the site.
I have no problem seeing a Philippino-only thread, but please use the proper forums for your discussions.
Thank you for your cooperation.

hey guys,
im just waiting for the stock of the gunstore for thier Norc to arrived from china. just some question for a newbie like me. Someone told me the there is a diff. in terms of firepower for the Norinco Standard model with the Commander Model. Is it really true? (im talking when both is used for practival shooting tournament) so sorry for this question but i'd before buying the model. money is not much of abundant to me. so i coulndt afford to buy the two model.
thanks.

What i understand about firepower is the number of rounds in your gun. Think of a Submachine gun. What you are trying to refer to might be the difference in velocity between a Government model and a Commander model. In competitions, the Government model is more favored than the commanders.
If money is not abundant at this time, better save up some more since you'll definitely just buy more guns.

First, I've asked you to stop using these threads as the local chat club for Philippinos.
Second, it is not polite to high-jack a thread, which is about a Norinco and ask a question about another pistol.
I am going to close this thread now.
