I have a M1911 which seems to have a WWI era slide, and a Remington Rand NO. 1381xxx housing. Does this make the gun less valuable? I bought it for $675... How did I do? I'm currently living in a country that doesn't give you the right to bear arms, but of course with some loop holes. I bought the gun intending it just for protection of property and valuables. I simply told a friend to find me a gun that I can put in the safe... as it turns out he turns up with the M1911 A1. Just being a little curious about the gun I owned, I typed in M1911 A1 while I was on the net... and WOW I couldn't believe how much significance this gun has. You guys are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.

The gun is less valuable than a complete WWI-era gun or a complete Remington Rand, but it is no less valuable than other, similar guns, of which there are plenty.
What are the markings on the slide?

Even though the pistol is built from parts, $675 is probably not a bad price if it is made of USGI parts and functional.
