Does anyone know the Allen key size on the Colt Commander XS grips? It looks like 3/16 but I'm not sure and if anyone knows I'd appreciate it.

Most grips using a hex-head wrench require 3/32, but if I'm not mistaken, the ones on my late, great XSE Lightweight Commander used the next smallest size in my B-Square collection, which would make it 5/64.
I hope this helps.

You're correct, they are 5/64.
I managed to locate a wrench of the correct size earlier today & that was it.

With my recent XSE LW Commander a 5/56" or 2mm both seem to work O.K.

And, yes, 3/32" is more common, esp. in the aftermarket with hex keys.

Yep: on all mine; the Colt LW Commander XSE is "one size smaller" than what fits all my other 1911's with hex head grip screws.
My S&W 1911 has standard screw slots on the grip screws.
