I was trying to find a site that sold stuff for the GI .45. I really do not know what of all you can buy for them. (If you know of some sites would you mind posting them?)

Anyway I came across an article on the NRA publications website. It mentioned a "key lock" on the gun. I was wondering what this was. I most certainly do not want a gun that has some lame ignitions switch on it. I want to fire the thing, not drive it. lol "The final, most obvious departure from the original is the integral key lock at the upper end of the mainspring housing, which is incorporated in all Springfield’s M1911s. But it, too, is unobtrusive." source = http://www.nrapublications.org/tar/G1.45.asp

Try www.brownells.com (http://www.brownells.com/) or www.gunpartscorp.com (http://www.gunpartscorp.com/) There are others, but this is a good place to start

45gunparts.com has most parts you would need, but I have received at least a couple of complains from folks who had delayed service from them.

The owner assured me it was because of a problem with their server and it looks as if complainees got what they paid for.

adroitcaptor,

All you have to do, to deactivate the ILS is replace the mainspring cap, part # 26, with a standard cap.
