I've just traded for a Remington Rand M-1911 A1 and I was curious what this pistol is worth? I don't have any pic's yet but the gun is in really good condition. No rust, no extreme wear but it does have a slight rattle on the peice just below the hammer. Not even sure what that is called

I'm new to the 1911's so I don't know much about the pistol. In fact, I dis-assembled the pistol to check for wear and I can't seem to get the lever on the side of the pistol back into the slide groove.

I guess what I really need is a manual or some type of instruction document that will help me with dis-assembly and more important, re-assembly.

Any suggestions?

Hey there!

Check the tech side of this site http://www.m1911.org/technic_forum.htm

That's how I started, other than to take a pile of parts to my gunsmith the first time I couldn't get it together.

You'll love your new acquisition!

PS I'm an extreme newbie to 1911s also!

This website also provides pretty good disassembly and reassembly help: http://www.surplusrifle.com/pistol1911/fulldisassemble/index.asp
