I am very new to Colt collecting and have just got my first Colt 1911 A1.
I was wondering if anyone could give me any details on it. The serail number is:

Colt 1911A1 with serial #2261298 was shipped between Feb.6,1945 and Feb. 20, 1945 to the Transportation Officer at Springfield Armory
