Is that a Dulite gun?

That is Du-Lite blue. While the outside is sandblasted and has an almost phosphate look, the inside is smooth and a dark blue.

A great example of an early Du Lite RR.

The grip safety looks like a Colt example which is proper for an early gun. Colt grip safetys have a "flat" on the back whereas RR manufactured safetys are rounder and fatter..

Thanks for sharing and the great photos!!!!!!!!!

Also has the correct stamped (not milled) trigger for that serial range. The milled triggers were used only up to about the 927xxx-928xxx range.

I certainly would recommend keeping that one just as it is. Type 1 logo Rem Rands are tough to find in any condition, especially as nice as this one. If you get an urge to shoot one, make it another one and just pretend it's this one.

The beloved New York slide. Nice weapon, keep her that way. :)
