I have a colt 1911 model 01918. I was wondering if any body knows sombody who can make me a set of factory style diamond grips out of solid pure silver and a trigger as well.

Dont ask why. Sufficient to say I'd rather spend the money on the problem rather than throwing it away on the solution/thearapy.

theres a thread here with someone posting a link to a dealer that makes damascus grips. Im not sure if someone makes solid or pure silver but the damascus will give you that look you want

Would make for a very heavy gun--and may cause problems with trigger reset/follow.

I've seen silver grips, but I don't think they were traditional double diamond pattern. Try Google on that.

The trigger is going to be tougher. Depending on how serious you are and how much work you're willing to put into it, my suggestion is that the Navajo tribe in AZ/NM has some pretty phenomenal silversmiths. There's an organization that acts as a clearing house to market their jewelry: the Southwest Indian Foundation, in Gallup, NM. You could give them a call, describe what you have in mind, and see if they might know a custom artisan who could do it for you. I'd guess you would need to send the craftsman two standard triggers. One would be to take apart and rebuild with the silver pad, the other would be the reference model.

Good luck.

These silver 1911 grips were made by a Texas silversmith, Clint Orms (http://clintorms.com ).

While they're not the double diamond pattern, he may able to custom make a double diamond set for you. I have no idea if he'd be willing to try to make a silver trigger for you, but you could ask.
