I'm new to 1911's and the forum, and would appreciate assistance in locating reliable parts sources.
At this time, I have an early Remington Rand 1911A1 #927XXX that appears all original except for the slide stop. First, I'm not sure if it takes a checkered Dulite slide stop (the gun is Dulite finished), or the later serrated one.
Which would be correct, where might I find one, and what can I expect to pay?
Also, will any 1911 firing pin spring be O.K. in this gun, or do I need original USGI. Again, who might have these?
