Thanks a lot guys.. and I bought it with license in the Philippines so there's a big chance it was already tampered but what do I know? :(

Hi
Sorry that I have to be this rough..
I will try to point at some stuff, But to know better you need to attache more sharp and close ups pictures on it.First the rear sight looks fishy(hard to see),Slide stop is wrong, the Serial number is a RemRand in 1942-43,but I cant se the NO infront of it. The finger cut out looks wrong to me,Wrong grips ,wrong screws,Wrong slide, wrong trigger, if it should be a GI that is. If not then its no wrong with it.
All best Ulfman
Ps my guess this is a 1911 frame with change serial number, and faked cut outs

The rollmarks have been engraved with a Pantograph, commonly used by trophy and plaque engravers. Unfortunately, it is a complete and total fake.

Just what some of the guys here are telling me.. :( And to think that the former owner was a guy old enough to be in ww2.
As some people would say here in the Philippines, there's a lot of fake 1911s even with the newer versions.
Well, thanks a lot guys. at least I know what I have here.. Lesson learned. :o

i also have a remington rand just like yours. the finger cut is the same as yours thats
why i have 2nd thoughts on my remington rand. plus i cannot find the exact year of the serial i have in my gun.

i also have the same problem as yours. the guy who sold this gun to me is an n.b.i agent. one thing that i noticed about this gun when i field strip it is that when i put some of the parts from my original colt just to try fitting it, it wont actually fit.
like for example fitting the mainspring housing and the original beavertail.

Oh my! As my LE friends would tell me, never trust the police just as you would not trust the crooks. :D

Well, if its still good to shoot, just use it in the range.
Thats what I intend to do with mine. :eb:
Good luck on your next purchase,
