Hello - I'm considering meeting up with a fellow to check out a Remington Rand (Colt frame) that he has offerred to sell. Looking at this as a shooter rather than a collector - the pistol has been hard-chromed for carrying in Florida climate (HUUUUMID). Complete description below.
The price on the table is $525 - any opinions? Thanks.

SUMMARY
The original pistol was manufactured during the First World War, as a commercial pistol and probably issued. The only “Colt” part was the frame (“Heart Grip“ and cartouche (Springfield Ordinance Eagle) ).The pistol was probably refurbished by Anniston Arsenal using Remington Rand parts in 1942-43 (“P“ on top of slide), as were thousands of other M1911’s. Probably, it was reissued for the Second World War between 1943-1945. The serial number is not the original. In the 1960’s, this pistol probably was modified for the National Match Program. If so, the rails were lowered, and the NM Bushing #7267718 was added. At some point in time, the pistol was hard chromed.
