Thank you. The one on the right is mine, the one on the left is my mothers.

Beautiful! Which is faster? :p

Hunter

Thanks Dr.T.
The one owned by my mom has only seen about 100 mph (with me driving) while I have braved the needle on mine just past 130 mph.
Considering they are identical I believe mine is faster. :D
I love BMW engineering.

They are great cars. Too bad we're not closer, we could let our silver German cars play :appld:

Nice images Dr.T.
I have been looking for a track to really put the 550 through it's paces.
I will cut it loose from time to time against the occasional Mustang or Camaro but I would like to be able to really pour it on.
If I had the money I would have a new M5.

Huh...

Nice cars, but not much faster than my Subaru, on this road!! :D

Maybe one day I will fulfill my dream to take it to the Nordschleife...

Now those are hairpin curves :eb: A great test of your acceleration and brakes :scared: Let's see your Subie......WRX STI?

Er, no, nothing like that! :D That's why I put the emphasis on "on this road"!

Not a good picture, this was taken just after she was hit by a hail downpur... she is fully repaired now, she could use a new set of tyres though...

The reason I wrote that your Bavarian beauties would not be much faster, is because the width of the road in my picture is just enough for ONE car! Not big enough for your girls to stretch their legs properly...

This particular road is in Crete, and was featured recently in a Toyota car advertisement here...

Subarus are great cars, they're all my parents will drive! Sadly, in this area the tree huggers and old hippies have adopted the Subie as their official car. The NRA sticker on the back of my Dad's Forrester must really confuse them. ;)

Aw, did you have to say that...? - Just kidding, unfortunately Subarus do seem to have a following with some annoying people.

The Forrester is the perfect car for the kind of mountain roads we've got here. It doesn't look very interesting. If there was such a thing as a head-turning scale for cars, its score would be a flat zero. And on a straight road, it really IS boring... but on a mountain, I annoy a lot of young men in their hot-hatches, with some regularity...

Only problem is, it goes through a lot of tyres when you get carried away!

Ah, the tire budget :scared: You just reminded me, the S2000 needs new rears :(

S2000? Just keep the revs under 7500, and the tyres will last a whole lot longer... :D

Ah.....that road looks like trouble.
I remember when you talked about your Subaru getting hail damage. I am glad you got it squared away.

That road is the reason I'm glad the Forrester has a low gear transfer case... of course, I don't have to drive it all the time... but I find an excuse to do so once in a while, like go look in the mountain for wild oregano, shop for Raki or wine in the next village (not to be consumed on the way down), or just take a picture of the plain below!

The picture doesn't give you a good idea of just how narrow it is. It is so narrow that in the pick-up, you need to have very good timing to avoid having to make a 3-point maneuver in 1-2 turns...

P.S.: The island you can barely see on the horizon is Gavdos, the southern-most piece of dry land in Europe!

Hey Hunter, how did you convince mom to get herself a new Beemer? Oh never mind, I know the answer. You got her first one and told her she could drive that ancient Ford you had parked in the driveway, right? Such a nice woman to have such a kid!!!!!

Seriously, I am telling you, you need to sell that 550 and get yourself an M5.

Hunter

Thanks for the kind words.

I would like to have a M5 but they are expensive and somewhat high maintenance.
