Howdy, I recently picked up a Remington-Rand (at least the slide) mix-master.
I'm trying to figure out who made the frame and when.
It doesn't have a single mark on it anywhere except for a 4 digit number (2194). It looks like a period frame but I can't tell a Remington from a Colt or Ithaca. It also looks like it may have been blued at one time then parkerized long ago. The guy I got it from said it was his Grandfathers for at least the last 40 years. Perhaps it's a lunch box special?
Also the barrel is marked on the lug "TZ 16 P" on one side and "M" on the other. Any help ID'ing the frame or the barrel would be appreciated. Here's some photos. Obligatory apologies for the quality. Sorry for the links, I don't seem to have permission to upload images.

I think perhaps an Essex aftermarket frame and some surplus parts.

Are there any marks on top of the frame? Otherwise it's going to be pretty hard to ID this one. It could be just about any A1 frame ever made. Possibly GI or maybe aftermarket commercial....

Nope, no other marks, letters, numbers, that I could find anywhere on the frame and it doesn't look like anything has been ground off.
The inside of the frame looks like it may have been packed in cosmoline at some point. Maybe.
Thanks for your input.
