1918 Value?

I have a 1918, sn 449XXX, pictured below. Probably %30 of the blue but very smooth w/o pitting or rust. I was quoted $1000 by a dealer. Also in the collection is a 1920 C123XXX also in great shape %80, quoted $1250. However they seem to sell for much more. Any help would be great.

Realize a dealer is probably looking to buy them and then resell them at a profit so the price quoted will likely be a bit lower than what you'd see them at retail. That said ... how much below a reasonable price depends on the dealer.
