Is there a source for 1914 grips out there at all? Father owns a 1926 1914 but it has what look like colt grips added at some point. Thanks

Just for clarity: You are referring to original grips for a 1914 Norwegian, right? Not grips for an American M1911 manufactured in 1914?

Yes, I should have been more specific. Norwegian 1914! Thank you!

I would have thought someone out there could might have a set thought the price probably out weighs the purpose for them. The gun has beenblued though you would never know know it. Several good shops have looked it over and were amazed at the finish it has. Thanks

Occasionally there's a display of Norwegian pistols at the Missouri Valley Arms Collectors Assn Show in KC. He's had grips and other parts in the past, I'll try to remember to get a card next time I see him.

That would be great! Thanks, Doran!

Watch Ebay as well... there have been a few pair of correct, original, M/1914 grips sell lately.

There are very many grips for sale on GUNBROKER.COM. Look under "COLTS". Might get lucky.

That's probably Terry Johannson (sp?) you are referring to.

I don't know the gentleman's name but usually sets up about in the middle of the room. Just one table as I remember, has some nice Norwegians and seems to know his stuff.

If it's any help, Terry and I were set up side-by-side last show. Older fellow, gray beard? Normally has the Norewgian book and holsters for sale, along with a few nice pistols.

Yes, he would be the best source for Norwegian parts IMO. Good call, Doran!

That's him. I don't remember his display last time but that's probably because I was too busy looking at your stuff.:D

I might know a guy who has a some new ones, but they are located in Norway!

I would be curious to hear if he has any, but I am skeptical the price would be realistic considering the price of these guns of late. What defines them as Norwegian version grips anyway? I have seen lots of them with the dimaond styling. Has to be more to than that but without any in hand it's hard to know!!

Most Norwegians have a downward extended slide release and the grips relieved for clearance.

... and they are made from a very light colored wood, Birch I believe. When they get some wear on them, the light wood really shows through the dark finish.

The guy with the big display of Norwegian 45's at this years OGCA display show was Ralph Merritt. I have contact info, PM me if interested.
