Does anyone know who did the parkerizing on the WWII reproductions? I just called Colt and they told me that a vendor did the parkerizing. I asked who the vendor was but they are not allowed to give that information out.

LOL,....sorry just had to laugh a little.
1st, I don't know who did it, but I know why, Colt had such a horrible hit and miss quality on their prior park jobs they litteraly had to have someone else do the work for them. I have a mid 90's Colt that has a green park frame and black/grey slide.
2nd,....it seems whatever you call Colt "customer service" about these days they tell you they can't give you any info because it's a "big secret", sorry I couldn't be much help here, but then thats Colt for you.

mr1911, on the other hand, I have a parkerized 1991 whose finish is just outstanding. I also have observed several WWII repros and early 1991s that looked equally as nice.

Like I said,..."hit or miss", some guns are great, others not so.
I still love my Colts, just telling it like it is.

Are you talking about the Black Oxide?? If so, could it have been done by Ron's?
