When I was in high school I started reading Mickey Spillane Novels, well private eye Mike Hammer terroized the baddies in NYC with his .45
And of course I was also reading Guns and Ammo-Jeff Cooper.
Boy oh Boy, did I want my own .45. "Hey Dad who about buying me a .45 for graduation?" and a B-day present.
Still have it. It ain't pretty no more, but there isn't a GM pistol that I have liked as much as this one, and I wouldn't trade it for any other.

Mmm, I don't know if I agree... I suspect that if I ever give my son one of these, I'd be very dissapointed if he didn't shoot it!

It's the .45. If I am not mistaken I belive it's all hard chrome also. I love it.

Yes it is hard chrome, they have another one with a nickel frame and blued slide, but I think they only do that in 38.super. I should have known yours is the .45, because the hard-chromed .38Super has a bull barrel.
