Picked-up a new Delta. Wanted to add weight, as I like a heavy gun.

One of the things I added was a Wilson FLGR. The factory set-up uses two recoil springs. I was going to use the factory recoil spring and a Wilson Shok-Buff with the FLGR (no small recoil spring).

Should I use a heavier weight recoil spring (Don't know what the factory spring weight is?)? I plan on just shooting standard loads from 1000 to 1250 fps. (nothing real hot).

Is this set-up going to work, or am I going to accelerate wear? Thanks.

Sir,
Wolff has a single spring made exactly to replace that strange double spring OEM setup. I added one to my DE and also put in a two piece Wison FLGR. The end result has been nothing short of excellent.

I've used a Shok Buff in my Delta Gold Cup for years. Never a problem. The original plastic guide rod with steel shims on both sides self destructed within a few hundred rounds. I use a mil spec GR and a Wolff 24 lb now. I don't know about the new ones but it seems I've read that the factory spring in the old ones was 22lbs. It has helped a lot in keeping the brass in the same zip code, especially with real 10mm ammo. The double spring setup felt different to me, kinda pogo stick feeling. I like the single spring.

Thanks for the great info.

I don't post questions much, but when I do, I know am going to get good solid answers based on experience.
