Well next week I will be picking up the subject of this: http://forum.m1911.org/showthread.php?t=68598
It is one from the early run of Combat Elites as it has the spur or "gov't" profile hammer with the "dished" grip safety, black wrap around grips w/silver medallions, box (reddish/brown paper), papers. It's in very, very nice shape with the exception of the infamous "idiot mark" from the previous owner, oh well. Serial # CG101XXX. I intend to call Colt on Tuesday to get the dob.
I'll put up pics after it arrives, I do intend to not only shoot it but carry it as well and I will be swapping out the hammer for a new stainless Ed Brown commander profile hammer.
