I wonder if anyone might know how many blue 10mm Delta Gold Cup pistols were manufactured. I understand they were only made during 1991, and one of the representetives from Colt told me he believed only 200-300 were made, but he could not confirm that number. Can anyone help out here?
I bought mine new and have considered selling it or trading it, but it might be foolish of me to sell it if it is indeed a rare pistol. Any thoughts?
I think a Blue Delta Gold Cup is extremely rare. I have never seen one.
The value has to be $1500 up. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Welcome to the forum!
It sounds like you have an interesting (to say the least) 1911 there, so I think I speak for many when I say

This is a poor picture and I will post better pictures when I can.
Wow... that much? That is a lot of temptation.

Are there other delta gold cup owners on this site? Do you shoot your pistols, or are they locked away as collectibles? I have fired mine several hundred rounds and think it is one of the finest pistols I have ever fired, but the truth is that I prefer long-guns and keep handguns mainly as defensive weapons. I don't shoot them much any more. Instead I prefer long range shooting. Handguns are great fun and I love having one at my side, but my real passion lies in smacking targets waaaaay far away!

I was poking around and found another blue Delta Gold Cup for sale. I wish I had the money to pick it up. This is the only other blue model I have ever seen.

The "SS" in the description tells me that gun is stainless steel.

There are two at that site. One is stainless, and the other blue. The blue is listed down the page further (http://img183.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=cdgc4.jpg.) You are probably correct about the stainless being the one for sale. Wouldn't it just be wonderful???

The 4 pictures I saw were of a stainless Delta Gold Cup National Match.

I was pretty certain that the left picture was a blue model, but you may be correct. It may appear that way due to the lighting. It looks just like my blue model in the picture. I also believe the "National Match" may be wrong. It does not say that anywhere on the pistol. It is simply a Delta Gold Cup. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

I bought my stainless DGC about six years ago in nearly new condition with the box and six Colt mags for $850.00. My gunsmith put an ambi safety on, did a reliability job, put a light-weight King's trigger on and a gold bead front sight plus added a King's full length 10mm guide rod (balances awesomely with fast follow-up shots). I am presently in the process of having a .40 S&W cal barrel / bushing installed and recently added so of Larry Davidson's Warthog grips.
I shot the heck out of this gun, often with full power reloads. It is super reliable and a tack driver. Don't sell it! Make it how you want it and shoot it for all it's worth! This is my favorite 1911 and a Wilson SuperGrade would not replace it. It has that fatter Colt trigger which I have grown to love better than the standard 1911 width 1911 trigger.
Life is too short to collect stuff. It won't make you rich anyhow. It will "enrichen" you to shoot it.
