I was poking around Colt's new website and ran across this little number. Don't know how I missed it before but this bad boy has some potential. I think I like it better than the Combat Elite.

Link to it on Colt's website (http://www.coltsmfg.com/products-c5-q63-COLT_PISTOLS.aspx#)

Not for 700 bucks more it ain't!

I would have a CE and save the 700 for something else......

Makes sense, as my Special Combat Gov. should probably have had "target" in there somewhere, not that you couldn't carry it.

I wish they would make it without a fps.

It's on par with Springfields TRP.

That's exactly the niche I see it fitting in, and why I didn't think the price was that far out of line. I think it would make an excellent duty gun as well.

It's a beautiful pistol, but a little too expensive these days for my wallet.

Part of that steep price covers the Night Sights that come on it as well as an adjustable rear sight. But the Bomars are great IMO also.

With a teflon finish and front strap checkering it could be on par with a TRP.

I must have missed something with my Imbel (Springfield) TRP. I grouped mine into the Colt Gold Cup Trophy area. Mine was nowhere near my Colt SCG in fit, finish, and in the ability to launch lead. I sold mine and was thinking of buying a 1911 from the S&W Performance center, as my S&W 945 is my best .45 ACP lead launcher (yes not a true 1911). Then a Ruger No. 1 opportunity landed in my lap so the money went to Ruger rifle world, not 1911 land.

In John's defense that site has not changed for a long time. New Nikon. Nice.
