Can a .45ACP gun be converted to a .38super with a barrel and mag change?
No, it cannot. The slide for a 9mm/.38 Super is needed because the rim size is much smaller than a .45ACP. In addition, the ejector also has to be positioned differently to strike the smaller rim.
For the .45ACP slide to work correctly on a modified frame with the ejector set inward farther, the slide has to be milled for the new ejector position.
Then the barrel, bushing and recoil spring must be changed and a .38 Super Mag used. It would be a good idea to have adjustable sights too as the POI will not be the same.
Once the mods have been made, you could easily add 9mm to your conversion calibers.

Thanks for the quick response.
I went to the ammo store today, and as usual they were out of everything. Except for the weird calibers, like 45GAP, 32ACP, and 38 Super. They were cheap too. $20 for a box of 50. And I knew alot of 1911 guys use that catridge in their "race guns." So I figured I would look into it...
Does anyone make a slide/conversion for the .45 guns like they do the .22lrs?
