Mag Release

I recently picked up a Colt MK IV series 80. The problem I am having is to seat a mag I have to push the mag release button in a little. When I look and the mag release it does not sit flush with the right side of the frame. Can I adjust this or is there another fix?

If the right side of the catch sits below the level of the frame (which must be your situation), no - they are not adjustable. A new catch will fix the problem, unless the counterbore in the frame is too deep.

The only way to fix your present catch is to grind off the portion that protrudes too far into the magazine well. The catch body is (or at least is supposed to be) case hardened so you won't be able to file it.

Blueprints for the frame and catch are available in our Tech Issues section if you want to take some measurements and compare them to the specifications.
