I've been considering selling one of my Colts to finance the purchase of another gun. Its a Mark IV Series 80 Officers Enhanced stainless version. Hasn't been fired very much and never carried, just sits in my safe. Can anyone give me the value of it or what a fair price would be to ask for it? Comes with box, manual and 4 mags. Here's a photo.

Perhaps you should read this partial quote from the forum rules so as to not get in trouble?
16. Members may not offer to sell a gun or anything else in any post, except if this offer is posted as a separate thread in the proper "For Sale" forum. If you offer to sell a gun or anything else in any other forum, even if your "For Sale" ad, is covered up (for example, "I have this rare 1911 model, which I am thinking to sell, how much do you think it is worth?") your post will be erased and you will be banned from this site.

Paul, I appriciate the fact that you feel the need to moderate someones post by pointing out a rule that Im already aware of, and was not violated. I am not offering anything for sale on the forum. I very simply stated, that I was considering selling it to fund another purchase. I simply asked if anyone can give me a general idea of the value. Please re-read my post. I dont have a current blue book and haven't been able to find any Officers Enhanced stainless versions for sale either locally or online at either of the traditional two aution sites, for me to get an idea of. Again, perhaps you should re-read the post and also remember what forums are for (Sharing teaching learning and comunicating with like minded people who share and enjoy the same interest)

Those are sweet guns. I have a few myself. Prices are a bit all over with them. They can be hard to find if you are looking for them (like most things).
I bought my current shooter for $600 which was a bargain. No box, papers or mags but it was in decent shape. So I did not feel very guilty modifying it:

The other ones I have are what they call Ultimate SS or BSS. They are worth about $100 more than brushed. I purchased one for $900 NIB unfired, but that was a couple of years ago. I have also purchased another later as a shooter and it was also $900 but no box, papers and gently used.
I would say yours is somewhere in the $850-$900 range. List it on Gunbroker and see how bad someone wants it.

Nobody wants to get rid of their Colt Officers 45 nowadays. I've seen some well used, a lot of scratches they're selling for an outrageous price. I recently sold my Colt MKIV 80S Enhanced SS with 1 mag for $680.00. No box or manual. I still have 2 in my safe 1 is SS and the other chrome. 1 has been modified, upgraded with front strap checkering, Novaks nite sites, b'tail and the other slightly modified.

I have had them and have 0 interest in them since the Defender came out. I would guess $650 from what I have seen in gunstores, but I am sure there are folk who will pay you more.
