What do colt 1911's go for ?

I was in my gunstore the other day and saw a colt 1911 for $ 650.Since im new to 1911's i thought this was quite low especially for a colt ??It had the satin finish on it,looked like a really nice gun just too bad i didnt have the funds on me to grab it or else i would have,Since buying my first taurus 1911 all i can think about is buying my next one .

Colts are nice but I'd think it would be a good idea to give model# and condition to get an opininion.

That would REALLY help the experts on here. (Of which, I'm not...)

Between $700 and 1800 depending on what you want. The General has improved quality by tenfold. Today my Colt Custom blew a Ed Brown and a STI Trojan away.

Colt 1911s have been around a long time, so many models and variations.

Do you know and trust the gunshop? The value they put on it may be O.K. Beyond that, pictures, the model, and the year it was made.
