I found one to day and I don't know what it's worth or what it is other than that it is a 1911.

Thanks,Chopper

I'm with Hawkmoon on this one.
To each their own, but I find very little attractive about that particular Colt.
The details make it look fake, or like a custom piece for Paris Hilton, IMHO.
Again, to each their own...

I'm partial to jewelled barrel hoods, but this is a bit much!

Aww... now you have me thinking of an ideal 1911 for her... I just hate how my brain works sometimes! How many inlayed pearls and diamonds... oh forget it!

Royal Blue and jeweling.......like the TALO Commander in a way.

Or in this case, beauty is in the eye of the beholder beer holder.

Beer won't help, except to forget about this one.
Please tell me that it is not a Super.38

That's what the ad says. :(

I guess no one seems to like it to much. This gun really doesn't do much for me either. I don't have any intensions to buy this gun. A friend of mine just bought it a month ago along with a series 80 colt they are both NIB never been fired.

Does anyone think that it may have a good future value do to limited quantity?

CHOPPER:
As long as your friend likes it, that's all that matters.
Should shoot just like any other Colt, cosmetics don't have an impact on operation, after all.
;-)
I, personally, have no clue on collectible value, deferring to the experts on that one, and I'm no expert...

Chambered in 38 Super and sold near that part of the American southern boarder that is common to our friends in Mexico, probably worth its weight in gold.

Honestly I Like it. But then again I am mexican. I own a 38 super and love it. I would pick up my Colt Custom 38 super over any of my 45's. No offence to anybody hear. Looks are going to vary between people, and so is caliber.

I love my Super too, but those jeweled parts don't pass muster. The grips well, I'm a wood guy, but simulated Ivory would do too.

I've never seen one in person, but if you look up "ugly" in the dictionary they have a picture of one.

Royal blue is pretty. But like others have said, the jeweling of the parts is ugly to me also and the pearl stocks....... If one was trying to be tacky, pearl is the way to go. Ivory or nice wood would have been better suited to this pistol.

junior-colt There is no disrespect. I was offering a marketing/sales observation. Many of the forum do not live down here in the SW US. I try to often offer obervations from the gunstores and the culture down here. Most of them will not know about May 5th either.

Sir,
I honestly meant no offense - just goofing around, really....but that gun is just not my cup of tea.
I am in South Houston, see and love lots of .38 Super slabs, and believe me, some a lot more pimped out than this one.
Each to his own, I say, and at its heart (the 1911 design) it is a state of the art weapon in my book, at least in terms of function.
Cheers!!

P.S. - Thanks Dakota for making me remember to mind my manners!! If we all liked exactly the same things this world would be an awfully boring place.....

Are they simulated ivory or simulated mother of pearl? I like them either way.
