Mr. Kimber: "What's that sound?"
Mr. Springfield: "Sounds like hoofbeats, and they're gettin' louder!"
Mr. Kimber: "Hoofbeats!? But I thought we left that rampant pony miles back"
Mr. Springfield: "Well he's comin' now. And he's riding hard! We best get movin' "
:D :p

Thanks for the link Ken. Promising article. All they have to do is produce a quality product and they will regain market share. A little selective marketing with a quality competitive product and they will sell guns. But they have to execute this plan correctly with excellent quality control. If they don't, again they are their own worst enemy.

I'm really not that prejudiced, but if it weren't for Colt nobody else would be making 1911s in the first place. I think that when Colt came out with the 1911A1 GI re-issue and then the 1911, they were starting to roll. The generic roll markings were a turn off IMO.
They do have some nice Models available now, and the New Agent is cool and is what they advertise when on hold with the factory.
I bought a Single Action Army 45 a couple of years ago, the others don't even compare.
I thought we would like the link.
I just like Colts and will die that way.

Now, if they can make 'em without a slide rub, we should be good to go.

This is great news for all of us. I have a great idea for Colt's new effort. How about focusing on the fastest growing segment of the gun business which is the CCW market. Let's see, Colt could make guns like the Mustang, Pony, Pocket 9, Cobra, etc, etc, etc. Even Sig sees the need to bring back the Mustang.

What Colt really needs to do is bring back the Detective Special in my opinion.
A New Service retro would be good in .45 ACP as well as .45 Colt, and .44 Special.
An Officers Model Magnum: A Python frame with a Trooper or OM heavy barrel.
A scaled down 1911 in .380

Yep, I forget to mention the Detective Special. Those retros would really sell.

This is something I would be quite interested in, and I hope will happen. They have the potential, if the article is correct of course, to produce some really cool stuff.
I'll sign up for one of the rails when they come out. I have a GSR I'll trade in.
