Yes, the boss just gave me permission to purchase a Rock compact from Bellshireguns. Got the last one they had listed, what timing. I'm kinda nervous as I have never purchased off of GunBroker or online before so shot them a email and am awaiting instructions for payment and how and where to send my FFL's info.
Really hope this goes good, as I have always wanted to take the plunge and purchase a firearm online but never had the nerve until now. I have been watching the Rocks listed at Bellshireguns for almost a month, slowly watching them dwindle away. kinda ironic to purchase the last Rock they had listed.
I am stoked can't wait to complete the transaction and receive my FS Rocks little brother.
Its now official I have a case of Rockitis, LOL.

After you've done it once, you'll do it again. I never had a problem with GB transactions.

Thanks Automag, I can't wait to get all the details out of the way and get this little jewel.
Thats good to hear Doc, guess I just got the first time jitters. Should be ok allot of people here have purchased from them with no problem.
Going to have to lay low for awhile this makes handgun number 4 this year already, I might be well served to wait till around October before lobbying for another, LOL. But this will give me 2 Rocks and that sure puts a smile on my face.

Sorry Grumpy I missed your question earlier.
I guess you would call it a hybrid or a GI Tactical, LOL. It has the beavertail grip safety and the commander style hammer but the GI sights.
Hopefully I'll hav it by this Friday and will definately post pictures when it gets here.

Well got the compact paid for and my FFL was supposed to fax the paper work today. He also told me coming from Nashville should only take a couple days. Can't wait to get it maybe he'll be right and they will have it here by Thursday or Friday.
Will post some pictures as soon as I get it in.

My RIA compact should be here sometime next week, it will take a little longer to my FFL in PR. Lets see how it shoots.

I purchased one last week and sent the payment along with the FFL info on Wednesday of last week. How long does this process usually take? My first time as well. Glad I pulled the trigger hearings they don't have any more listed on Gunbroker.
Rock on!

Hi 2wide,
When I purchased mine I had to follow up on my FFL submittal so it took a little longer but still it was only a week. You may what to give Phil a call at 615-860-4212 I am sure that he will give you a status on if it shipped and when.

LOL, I'm hoping mine gets here quick. If my FFL got his paperwork faxed in today like he was supposed to should be here max of about 3 days.
I am glad I finally bit the bullet and purchased off of Gunbroker myself. Should have been doing this a long time ago, LOL.
Will post how well she shoots also. This is going to be a long couple days.

Not a problem, I'm used to being ignored, I have teenagers. ;) I hope you love your compact as much as I love mine.

LOL, wasn't ignoring you just had missed the question.
Kids, I have 1-25, 1-19, and 1-13, I know what you are talking about there.
I would almost bet the house on liking the compact. I can't wait till it gets here. Hopefully I'll have it in my hands by Friday. I was lucky and found a local shop that does transfers for $20.00 so I felt kinda lucky. Now its just wait and see if this guy faxed off the FFL today or not. This being my first time buying online I was a little nervous but everythign seems to be going great so far.
Be glad when I can put some rounds down range and see first hand how it shoots.

I got the tracking number for mine yesterday afternoon. I called my FFL to tell him it was on the way & he told me he'd just logged it in & I could come get it anytime. I just wasn't prepared for the quality of the little pistol when I examined it at his house as he phoned in the 4473. The only other 1911 type pistol I've seen that was as tight as this one was my H&K USP45 Tactical & even it has that familiar little rattle to it. After a detailed cleaning, I'm very anxious to get some rounds downrange. The funny thing is here I am with nearly 1000 rounds loaded & none of it is hardball.

Do these little guys prefer round nose to swc's?

I can't tell you, this is my first RIA. I've always used hardball to break in my 1911's. Hopefully this CS will end up being my CCW & it'll never see SWC or the like. If it does work out & become my CCW I'll be using Gold Dots or XTP's & maybe LRN's for practice. Precision Bullets out of Kemp Texas makes some pretty sweet coated lead round nose bullets that I really like a lot.

Unless it just is broken I know I will love mine. This is going to be a carry piece for me, and will be the first pick out of the rest. But she'll get first chair, and the others will have to compete for the other 3 chairs, LOL.

Picked it up today. Man that seemed like a long wait. Fired off a mag full of FMJ's with out a problem. She's just a basic hybrid /or GI Tac which ever you decide to call it. Next I'll be saving for some night sights to go her. Was thinking about looking into the Express night sights with the big dot.
Here she is just another basic GI compact with commander hammer and beavertail, thats why I call it the GI Tac. She may just be like any other but the best thing is she is mine and I have her with me.

The more I see that model the more that I like it. :D :D :D
If I did not have my heart set on a MS for my next purchase I would look into purchasing the GI Tac.

I really like the GI TAc Compact, the only thing it needs is a nice set of night sights.
At 10 yards I was tearing up a plastic butter bowl. I'm going to really like this little 45.

So rigrat do you think that you will put Trijicon sights on this GI Tac?

Mike,
I'm thinking either the Trijicon like I put on my FS GI or might even think about the Express big dot night sights. The only thing about the Express is they are a little higher.
But yeah will more than likely before long put some type of night sights on it as I really like the Trijicon night sights on my GI.
